The most important thing about choosing your makeup colors is knowing whether your skin is cool or warm.Using the incorrect shades can make your skin look shallow, and will cause the colors of your clothes to be unflattering.

Steps

1. Choose cool colors if:
   
   
   • Your skin tone is olive, a rosy brown color or a light rosy color, fair/ medium rosy .
   • Your hair color is dark, black, blond, or any of the brown tones except a golden brown.
   • Your eyes are blue, green or hazel
2. Choose warm colors if:
   
   
   • Your skin tone is golden or medium fair.
   • Your hair is golden brown, red or strawberry blond.
   • Your eyes are hazel, dark or medium brown.
   
   TIPS
   If your skin, eyes and hair colors cross the lines between warm and cool, then use cool colors on the cool areas of your body and warm on the others. For example, you may need a cool blush and a warm eye shadow.
